Located high in the Northern Drakensberg Mountain range, 50km from the town of Burgersfort.The Thabakgolo Bush Camp has hiking trails through which guests can enjoy breath-taking scenery, waterfalls, rock pools, rain forest and majestic mountains.

Quad biking trails
Picnic quad bike trail – this trail is loved by couples who spend time at the viewpoint with a picnic back packs
Olifants quad trail
this is a group quad biking trail along the olifants river and community interaction makes this a true African experience.
Multi-day backpacking trails
- Slapisha hiking trail – this is a strenuous hike to the summit of the northern Drakensberg with its 360-degree views of both the highveld and the lowveld towards the Kruger national Park
Day trails
- Shibibi river trail – has an amazing potholes, rock pools with trails laid out along the riverine forest situated only 6km from the bush camp.
Facilities
General camping sites
The base camp boast 15 camping sites with hot and cold-water ablutions on a grassy park,
situated within the campgrounds
Boma
A special purpose boma is provided for group get together, specifically for campfire
stories and entertainment
Four Single Tented Chalets
The standard tented units are equipped with two single beds, solar lights and linen, the
unit will be set-up per bookings
Kitchen Facility
The camp has kitchen facility for group bookings and pre booked meals, can be provided.
Eight Double Tented Chalets
The luxury tented units are equipped with two single beds, bedding and linen, cupboard,
solar lights, covered veranda with a table and two director’s chair – the units are set-up per
booking
